Lessons learned
Tough evaluation criteria was Jam's ground up experience in building our first Enterprise Size Account. There were a number of lessons to be learned from preparation, compliance, and flexibility needed perspective to excel as a new vendor in national market. We now have two separate SLAs via contingency search agreements for direct placements/executive searches and another MSA for contract placements across the organization. We have successfully maneuvered through various levels of organizations to be positioned as one of the only preferred vendors that get called back. This is due to excellence level in our Services, our quick turn around in talent delivery, and our commitment to only present the best and most relevant talent head hunted specifically from competitors. We quickly learned the challenges of the hiring managers and developed our trademark 360 Intake process. As a response we have deployed most successful talent for both contracts and full-time that is very (retail) domain specific, are highly educated, diverse in nature, and seek longevity. Our full-time talent has had 100% retention rate and contract talent has had 90% retention rate for the term for the project timeline.
A Digital firm that we work with is TorStar Digital as a primary vendor to supply talent. The company publishes more than 70 newspapers and operates dozens of digital businesses in Canada through its main operating segments, Daily News Brands, Community Brands, and Digital Ventures. This Digital Ventures segment includes Torstar’s 56% interest in VerticalScope, a leading North American vertically focused digital media company and eyeReturn Marketing, a leading developer and provider of online advertising services.
Our focus working with TorStar, so far and in growth pattern, has been quite specific to growing Digital Development Team via staff augmentation. Under the direction of the Senior Director and AVP at Torstar, we has assisted in building a top-tier Digital Mobile and Web development teams to augment a major transformation initiative of 3 digital assets. Our talent has been instrumental in Torstar’s push to converge digital properties to the latest and greatest technology stack.
In addition, we have historically worked with Corus Entertainment’s Producers, Digital Operations Directors, and DevOps division to surface contract talent via standalone staff augmentation SLAs. These projects were for typically 3-6 months renewable assignments.
